Are tattoos a sin

                               Are tattoos a sin?

No where in the Bible does it mention that a tattoo is a sin. Naturally allot of us were taught this by well meaning Christians. However, on the contrary this is not the case!

Let’s take a look at this verse that is often misquoted .

Leviticus 19:28
28 You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord.

As we read this we can clearly see that it is talking about cutting and tattoo marks for the dead! This was something that the pagans would do in their rituals and God did not want the Hebrews to practice the  rituals of the pagans. God had set His people aside as His chosen people, they were not to serve other false gods!  Everything we do and say should honor God.

Now let’s take a look at more of these verses…

Leviticus 19:26-28
26 ‘You shall not eat anything with the blood, nor shall you practice divination or soothsaying. 27 You shall not shave around the sides of your head, nor shall you disfigure the edges of your beard. 28 You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord.

Again, we can see that the above verses were addressing, Pagan worship and not the worshiping of God Himself.

Nevertheless, if your thinking about getting a tattoo think of these reason on why it may not be the right choice for you.

Is the tattoo honoring God?

Remember the Bible tells us to do everything unto the Lord.

(Colossians 3:23-24
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.)

How will a tattoo affect my ministry of reaching people for Christ?

Paul said it so very well here. We have our freedom in Christ to live freely, but that freedom should not be taken lightly. If it is not helpful or benefiting the gospel, put wisdom first in what we do with our freedom. Remember the world is watching.
(1 Corinthians 6:12
12 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any)

Will it cause my brother or sister in Christ to stumble ?

Remember we are to walk and hold others in consideration of the freedom that we have .

(1 Corinthians 8:9
But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak.)

Have I sought this out in prayers?

God will direct our path in whatever direction we are trying to go. Pray and seek God on his wisdom on tattoos that are appropriate.

(Proverbs 3:6
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.)

And last remember your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

(1 Corinthians 6:19-20
19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body [a]and in your spirit, which are God’s.)

What does the Bible mean when it says”Be Still”?

Be Still and know that He is God!
Did you know that the Bible commands us to be still and “KNOW” that He is God. It’s not a command to sit idly aside. But a command to recognize who we serve! To stop and to remember that we serve a God that is able to fight for us!

Today, let us lay aside every battle that we have taken upon ourselves. Lay down every frustrations, every anxiety, every care and lay it aside, and allow God to fight those battles !

Be STILL( in our heart) and remember who we serve ! Watch and see how truly mighty our God is !

Psalm 46:10

“Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God.

I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth.”

If God lays it on your heart to pray over this group today and all it’s members. Please feel free to comment below.

Is God Good?

Did you know that God is truly GOOD? Yes, Your God, really is! With all the evil in the world, and chaos, one thing we can firmly grasp is the goodness of God. The Bible even tells us come and see how Good He is !

He is a God of True Love!

He is a God of Mercy and Grace!

He is a God that comforts!

He is a God that meets every need!

He is a God that Speaks to us!

He is a God that Heals every disease!

If you haven’t met King Jesus, invite Him into your life and see for yourself!

Psalm 34:8
8 Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

Have a Blessed day in Christ, Love Sis Rashida .

Can Christians suffer from depression ?

Depression is something that I just didn’t really hear being talked about growing up in a Christian home. It was more of always trying to be happy, or fake it till you make it! Yeah, I know, not very helpful at all! Sitting in church Sunday after Sunday, and year after year just going through the motions of what a Christian is supposed to act like and look like was no longer cutting it! Let just say the appearance of happiness does not get you very far!

After years of digging into the bible for myself and purposely drawing close to Jesus for myself, I then began to really see who this amazing God we serve really is. Not only is Jesus our Savior, but He truly is our Prince of Peace!

The knowledge that He will and can work out everything for our good is our peace during difficult times of depression and hopelessness. Difficult times when it seems that the enemy has declared an all-out war on our minds! When the lies of satan creep into our thought lives and try to pull us into believing every lie that is contrary to the word of God. It is a battle that joyful I have found out through reading the bible, that God has already won for us all! There is HOPE!

Depression has many causing factors, it can be caused by a chemical imbalance in our bodies, lack of a healthy diet, taking on worries, suffering a loss, a spiritual attack from satan`s demons, and even living a life of sin. Let’s look at a few of these causes and what God`s words say about depression in these scriptures.

Proverbs 12:25Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression,
But a good word makes it glad.

The bible tells us here that anxiety, worries, taking on the cares of this life can cause depression, but a Good word, which is God`s word, can make us glad. How do we get that good word? We do this by meditating on the word of God and his promises instead of focusing on the lies of the enemy. Lies that we are not good enough or the lies that things will never get better. We do this by also casting down every thought and imagination that exalts itself over the truth of the gospel! The truth that our hope and peace come from God.

Take a look at these verses…
Isaiah 26:3
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You Because he trusts in You.

Notice how God will keep us, in His perfect peace as we purposely keep our mind on Him,

Philippians 4:6-7
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

In this verse here, we also see that every care, if we give it over to Jesus and trust that He will work it all out, He will give us His peace.

Hebrews 11:25
5 He chose to ·suffer [be mistreated/oppressed] with God’s people instead of enjoying ·sin for a short time [L the temporary/fleeting pleasures of sin].

In the above verse, we see a life of sin only gives temporary pleasure. However, a life with God can give us hope and peace.

Psalm 34:18
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

The above verse lets us know even in our brokenness, even in our loss that God is still close to us, embracing us tightly!
Depression is real and even though it has many causes, God is above them all! He is able to deliver you from depression, and help you walk through every trial! You’re not alone! His word promises that He is very close to those who are broken.
Today if your suffering from depression, know that I am praying for you!
I pray that the hopelessness that you feel, will be replaced with the hope that can only be found in Jesus! I pray that the cares that are binding you up, are loose with God,s peace that surpasses all understanding. I pray that the loss and brokenness you feel is your heart, that God will reveal himself to you and show you that He is right there walking you through this! I pray for healing for every chemical imbalance, healthy lifestyle changes, and renew relationships with Christ Jesus! In Jesus’ name, I pray Amen!
Remember there is HOPE in Jesus!

Is money evil?

Is money evil?

Well, let’s take a look at what the Bible actually teaches…

1 Timothy 6:10
10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Deuteronomy 8:18
18 “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

If money was actually evil then how could God contradict Himself in the above Bible verses. One verse states that the love of money is evil and the other tells us that God gives us the power to create wealth.  Well, it’s simple, He did  NOT contradict Himself!

The Bible is very clear the “Love” of money is the root of all evil, not having money itself. The bible also teaches that God is the One that gives us the power to create wealth. God gives us ideas, wisdom, and knowledge on how to increase our wealth.

Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what the ” Love” of money actually means. According to Webster`s definition, the word ” Love” means

n. 1. A feeling of strong attachment induced by that which delights or commands admiration; preëminent kindness or devotion to anotheraffectiontendernessasthe love of brothers and sisters.

When someone loves money so much, it becomes their focus, their drive, and a  strong attachment to it is created. Basically, money becomes their first Love, their everything, their drive, and their only desire in life. Money becomes their God and everyone else including God takes the backseat.

Does God want us to have money? Yes!

However, God wants us to have a healthy relationship with money. He does not want it to rule over our lives. God uses the money in this world to meet needs, to reach the poor, needy, and help spread the gospel. Money was never created to stand in a position to be loved and admired! Money was created as a tool for society.
Note this verse…
Matthew 6:24(NKJV)
You Cannot Serve God and Riches
24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. (money)

We can not serve God and money! One will always end up taking the back seat! Remember to keep money in its right perspective, which is a tool to use in this world. God is the God that will give you the power to create wealth and He alone should be your first LOVE!

3 John 1:2
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers

Will God supply all my needs?

King Solomon once asked God to give him a heart that understood what God saw what was evil and what God saw what was good! Because of this, and selfless requested, God went on to not only given King Solomon what he asked for but God also blessed every area of His life!

When you seek God first, and His desires and His will for your life, it comes with a promise. A promise that God will take care of every need in your life! Y’all it’s in the Bible !

Heavenly Father,
I come to You in the name of Jesus! Thank You for giving each and every one of my children a understanding heart! A heart that discern good from evil! May they continue to walk in Your ways all the days of their life! May the keep You as their first Love! In Jesus name amen!

Did Jesus take our sins?

How many times have you heard the phrase, “He took our sins upon himself?” Many times, I can imagine. But have you ever really sat and thought about it?

Our sins, small or large in our own heart, is nevertheless sin to God! The sin that not only separates us from Him but must have a consequence… Jesus took those consequences which were death upon Himself.

The Bible tells us here that the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Think of it like this, you rob a bank and get caught! You stand before a judge in court and he sentences you to life in prison! However, before you can serve any of your time in prison, a man stands up, and says to the Judge that He will take your punishment for your crimes! The judge sets you free and tells you to go and commit no more crimes!

You are now free and spread the Good news of a man that took your punishment upon himself!

This is Jesus! He came down here on earth to take your punishment for your sins! He died on the cross, bearing your sins, to make you in right standing with God!

Whatever your sin is, Sex out of marriage, liar, cheater, lustful, gossiping, etc..

Jesus came to set you free from it all! The Bible says it so clearly here! Hebrews 3:15-16

15 while it is said: “Today if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

Did you notice the word” Today”? You don’t have time! Tomorrow is not a promise to anyone! Make the choice to receive Jesus as Your Lord and Savior! Don’t harden your heart, but let Him into your heart!

Have a Blessed day Love Sis Rashida

Just ask in faith

Oh boy was this going to be a day of waiting around! Yesterday, I had to go to the County Clerks’ office and the Dmv. If anyone is familiar with Kentucky, they don’t make it simple for us, but you have to go to two separate buildings ! LOL

Well, shamefully my vehicles’ tags had just expired and my driver’s liscense would follow soon mid February! So with no choice but to suck it up and go, I went! While driving down there, I am praying, Lord please don’t let it be a long wait!

I get there and only four people in line Hallelujah!!! Had about a thirty minute wait and was done with my new driver’s liscense! I have to say my massacre was on point, in my photo!😂😂

Off to the next location! Now I am like, Jesus I did seen that line many of times these past few months and it is always long! I need to get in and out. I get there and there is NO ONE in line!! 😂😂 Peek my head in thinking this can’t be right, and the clerk says, “I can help you right over here”!

Let me just remind you, that God does care about the little things in our life! He really does! With everything going on around us, I am reminded of these verses…

James 4:2-3
2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God

God just wants to ask Him! For healing, deliverance, for needs being met! He wants us to come to Him in faith, that He is the answer to it all!

Today, I hope it encourages you to know that God does care ! Hold on to these verses here…

1 John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

God Bless, Rashida Singh

Christians and The Presidential Elections

A House divided AGAINST itself can not stand! It’s no longer about who you vote for! America has become a nation where the people no longer stand together but allowed the division to creep in!

No matter who votes for who! This Nation can not stand if people remain divided! Step back and look at the entire picture!

Divide One of the most powerful nations, get the people fighting against themselves and conquer it!

Wake up America and see who is really behind this pulling the strings! The Bible is clear we wrestled not against Flesh and blood!

It’s so sad to see the day when America starts to crumble…

Matthew 12:25
Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.

Stay Bless, Rashida

Christians keeping their word

Jacob my wild child, LOL comes and sits next to me holding my heavy bible. He said, momma, you said you would teach me that Bible verse!

I will admit, I was distracted at the moment and told him not right now. Quickly as the words left my mouth I was reminded of a video from Minister Karen Wheaton. She spoke about being known for keeping our promises! Just as we can take God at His word, His promises!

So we went over Pslams 121 and also listen to a song on those verses. Every day is a chance to grow wiser in Christ and be effective in teaching our children to be a fire LIT for Jesus !!
For Jesus calls His ministers flames of fire!

Hebrews 1:7
7 And of the angels He says:
“Who makes His angels spirits
And His ministers a flame of fire.”
